BACK TO WORDS FROM WARFLOWER
May 4, 2026

one of my personal favorites from the album is this reggae/hip-hop kinda jam, which is based on a true story that I never tell onstage.
you know, self-incrimination and AI page-scraper cops and all...DOOM perhaps said it best:
"Rap snitches, telling all their business
Sit in the court and be their own star witness"
so yeah all I can say is that the song is rooted in personal experience...besides, it is obviously much funnier if I simply decline to tell the story at every opportunity.
instead, let's chat a bit about Ozempic.
the miracle weight loss drug came from a scientific study on the saliva of gila monsters...you can go read about it on reddit or whatever if you want, but short story is that pure science can have unintended applications.
this one was another win for the PR firms of the world.
sorta serves to bolster that old narrative about high science gleaming at the edge while streets starve and cities crumble...the same type of rhetoric used to placate the public in the Space Race era.
had to be crazy to watch a mf walk on the moon while you couldn't even walk into your nearest drugstore...probably be a fairly amusing late night skit if Ozempic was invented before the end of segregation, less so if you put another, more essential medication in its place.
okay I don't wanna pick on Ozempic specifically, we ain't making memes here, but okay like you ever think about how strawberries are always available?
like, the little spring berries that appear for like 3 weeks if they even grow where you live, just everywhere...in that plastic container in the free grapes aisle, on top of your pancakes at the brunch spot, stuffed in the middle of a toaster thingy, all year round the world.
as a species we have mastered the growth, harvest, processing, and delivery of this delicious and delicate fruit, to say nothing of hardier stuff: beans, carrots, potatoes.
there is enough on this singular paradise planet to feed each and every one of us...the issues lie in distribution.
in imagination.
some of the greatest, most potent minds credited to the human race are currently engaged not in how to produce the best and most bountiful goods possible for the most possible people, but how to extract the most, provide the least, and more effectively advertise things that we do not need.
this, to me, is a grievous misappropriation of our collective potential.
mfs gonna drop a lot of adipose tissue when our 2026-primitive energy, manufacturing, water management, and cultivation technologies cause global crop failures. hope somebody enjoys the last strawberry...in case somebody reads this in 2049, they were actually pretty good back in my day.
point is, the fact that we could make our world better simply by making our world better instead of as an indirect byproduct of unrelated pursuits gets skipped over a lot.
so yeah the text of this song may deal directly with foodstuffs but it's a pretty obvious metaphor for literally everything good in our world.
for the insatiable, gluttonous, utterly disgusting greed of the parasite class for our resources, time, potential, and bodies.
the Files make it clear: they want to eat your entire fucking life.
worse, they might take your life from you then leave it to rot unused by anyone, a whole toddler's worth of dreams and jubilation left to oxidize at some decadent celebration like so much guacamole.
thing is I don't get all that mad about everyday shxt...ya miss the bus oh well another shall come one day (maybe even to somewhere more interesting!), the thing broke well tape it together or use something else, oops messed up the paintjob guess that's a flower now.
what fills my gut with boiling blood is to consider what has been taken from us.
it makes me so incredibly fucking furious that I wrote a song about it.
[verse 1]
monopolizing!
we realizing
root of all evil baby
we don't believe you baby naw
ain't having it your avarice it's goin down
check ain't clearin
tired of hearing ain't enough to go around
time come when you know you got to share some
[pre-chorus]
butter from lead
give us this day our bread
butter from lead
give us this day our bread
butter from lead
give us this day our bread
can't hoard all the world
feed my people instead
[chorus]
gimme gimme gimme gimme
(you don't need that today)
gimme gimme gimme gimme
(you'll just throw that away)
all the food you can't use
we about to feed the needy now
you been eating long enough
said stop being greedy now
[verse 2]
you said we'd be somebody
you threw a pizza party
and so we pack it up to go
before we leave the party
yeah!
ain't havin' it, your avarice, it's goin down!
check ain't clearin
tired of hearing ain't enough to go around
time gon come when you know you got to share some!
[pre-chorus]
butter from lead
give us this day our bread
butter from lead
give us this day our bread
butter from lead
give us this day our bread
can't hoard all the world
feed my people instead
[chorus]
gimme gimme gimme gimme
you don't need that today
gimme gimme gimme gimme
you'll just throw that away
all the food you can't use
we about to feed the needy now
you been eating long enough
sa id stop being greedy now
[verse 3]
we see you full of sweets,
full of bread, full of pies
full of cake we can't swallow your lies
dishes in the kitchen
overserved and supplied
while our eyes open wide
for the cream filling inside
you see us fuller than we seem, full of steam
full of anger and ideas, full of dreams
stomach empty,
unfriendly
woken fast unbroken
then we work past 10pm, see?
but you got plenty,
get some up in me
while I'm chilling in your kitchen
eat your lunch like I'm a bully
empty out your fridge and
take your freezer with a pulley now
"no free lunch"
but they won't give our land back
so everything they own
looking just like a damn snack
[pre-chorus]
butter from lead
give us this day our bread
butter from lead
give us this day our bread
[chorus]
gimme gimme gimme gimme
you don't need that today
gimme gimme gimme gimme
you'll just throw that away
ooh the food you can't use
we about to feed the needy now
you been eating long enough
said stop being greedy
gimme gimme gimme gimme
you don't need that today
gimme gimme gimme gimme
you'll just throw that away
ooh the food you can't use
we about to feed the needy now
you been eating long enough
said stop being greedy now"
"guns and butter" hit way different when the same people control both, yeah?
when some individuals have everything and most people have nothing but they were stupid enough to leave us alive anyway, what is the inevitable conclusion?
tell me, how is it wrong to take anything from the type of individual who engineers or enables such grand crimes against all living human beings?
how is it wrong to take everything from them?
I write all these words today to tell you that we are beyond words at this time.
those who would take a second slice of pizza before the box has gone around the room will not be calmly persuaded not to.
they coached that out of everyone coachable back in daycare, a person's tolerance for inequity is as deeply rooted as their favorite color or lack thereof.
we're in more of a "direct action" kinda phase...because never forget that those who rule through force NEVER think you even deserve what you have, let alone better.
most of us do not work sunup to sundown because WE TOOK those hours from them. fought and bled and died at Haymarket Square and Blair Mountain and countless, nameless sites around the world.
God died not through prayer, but because we removed His head with a guillotine.
when our forecousins in Haiti broke their chains of bondage, according to the Order of the day they robbed slavers of labor and investors of profit potential.
...and were made to pay over a century of reparations.
so whether the master's tools can destroy the master's house is certainly up for debate, but we can at least agree that he ain't just gonna hand you the keys to your shackles and throw a mass retirement party anytime soon.
any real vehicle of our liberation will most likely be reported as stolen on the news. chased by the cops. shot at in the street...it's all perfectly legal.
...but we can't let that stop us now can we?
all power to The People.
